PressPausePlay, a documentary about the digital revolution in culture, will have its global release at South by Southwest, the world leading festival for music, film and interactive media.

Is the new digital era a blessing for creativity or is true talent instead buried in the landslide of mediocrity?

This is the question asked in the film PressPausePlay through interviews with some of the world’s most influential creators of the digital era. Moby, Seth Godin, Robyn and Sean Parker, among others, share their views on the state of creativity in an impertinent documentary by the Swedish filmmakers at House of Radon.

The world premiere of PressPausePlay will take place in Austin, Texas at South by Southwest in the prestigious Spotlight Premiere Section on March 11-19, 2011.

- “We asked ourselves, is democratized creativity good or bad? Is the digital revolution our future or doom? Being contributors or perhaps accomplices in this development we simply decided to ask around among some of the world’s most influential creators of today”, said David Dworsky, one of the film’s directors.

The digital revolution of the last decade has unleashed creativity and talent of hundreds of millions people in an unprecedented way, crumbling business models of the traditional entertainment industry.

But does democratizing creativity entail better art, film, music and literature or is true talent instead flooded and drowned in the vast digital ocean of mass culture, turning creative democracy into a new dark age of mediocrity?

“This changes everything. The Industry is dead. There has never been a better time to be an artist”
-Seth Godin, author, entrepreneur.
